Shelby's Wheel & Tire of Paducah began in October 1985. The store was opened by Shelby Dunn and the Dunn family of Owensboro, KY, as a subsidiary of the Shelby's Wheel & Tire in Owensboro. One year later, the Paducah store was purchased by Joe Goff, who had worked for Shelby in Owensboro for 10 years. The Paducah Store has been under continuous ownership and management of Joe Goff since he purchased the store in 1986. The business has continued to grow in sales and number of employees since that time.
